Eugen von Czihak

Eugen von Czihak (born July 8, 1853 in Aschaffenburg , † August 21, 1918 in Berlin ) was a German architect , Prussian construction clerk and art historian .

Life

Eugene of Czihak studied 1871-1874 Architecture at the Technical University of Darmstadt . He then worked as a draftsman and architect in the Friedrichsort garrison construction office from 1874 to 1875 , before becoming a teacher at the municipal building trade school in Salza and at the trade school in Liegnitz in December 1895 . In 1878 he began a legal clerkship as a government building supervisor . In 1886 he was appointed government builder ( Assessor ) after passing the second state examination . In 1890 he became a teacher at the state building trade school in Breslau . In September 1892 he became director of the newly founded state building trade school in Königsberg and, on a part-time basis, of the provincial art and trade school in Königsberg . In 1902 he was promoted to the government and trade school council in Düsseldorf . In 1905 he was appointed to the state trade office of the Prussian Ministry of Commerce in Berlin, where he died in 1918 with the rank of secret councilor .

Czihak devoted himself to the research of the arts and crafts , especially Silesia and Prussia. From 1888 to 1892 he was the administrator of the collections of the Museum of Silesian Antiquities in Breslau.
