Eugene Antonio Marino SSJ (born May 29, 1934 in Biloxi , Mississippi , USA ; † November 12, 2000 ) was Archbishop of Atlanta .

Life

Eugene Antonio Marino joined the Congregation of St. Joseph Society of St. Heart in and received on 9 June 1962, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On July 12, 1974, Pope Paul VI appointed him . as titular bishop of Walla Walla and appointed him auxiliary bishop in Washington . The Archbishop of Washington, William Wakefield Baum , donated him episcopal ordination on September 12 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Columbus , Edward John Herrmann , and the Auxiliary Bishop of New Orleans , Harold Robert Perry SVD .

On March 14, 1988, Pope John Paul II appointed him Archbishop of Atlanta. The inauguration took place on May 5th of the same year.

Eugene Antonio Marino resigned as Archbishop of Atlanta on July 10, 1990.
