Thomas Andrew Donnellan (born January 24, 1914 in New York City , New York , USA , † October 15, 1987 in Atlanta , Georgia ) was Archbishop of Atlanta .
Life
Thomas Andrew Donnellan received on 3 June 1939, the sacrament of Holy Orders .
On February 28, 1964, Pope Paul VI appointed him . to the bishop of Ogdensburg . The Archbishop of New York , Francis Cardinal Spellman , donated to him on April 9 of that year at New York's St. Patrick's Cathedral , the episcopal ordination ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Springfield , Christopher Joseph Weldon , and the Auxiliary Bishop of New York, John Joseph Maguire . The inauguration took place on April 13, 1964.
Paul VI appointed him on May 24, 1968. to the Archbishop of Atlanta. The inauguration took place on July 16 of the same year. He held the office for 19 years until he suffered a stroke in May 1987 , which subsequently divorced him in October of the same year.
