Eugeniusz Popowicz
Eugeniusz Mirosław Popowicz (born October 12, 1961 in Człuchów , Poland ) is a Polish clergyman and Ukrainian Greek Catholic Archbishop of Przemyśl-Warsaw .
Life
Eugeniusz Popowicz was October 14, 1986 by the Secretary of the Congregation for the Oriental Churches , Curia Archbishop Miroslav Stefan Marusyn , the deacon ordained. Popowicz received on October 17 the same year, also by Archbishop Miroslav Stefan Marusyn the sacrament of Holy Orders .
On November 4, 2013 it appointed Pope Francis to the titular bishop of Horrea Coelia and ordered him to auxiliary bishop in the archeparchy Przemysl-Warsaw . The Grand Archbishop of Kiev-Halych , Svyatoslaw Shevchuk , donated him episcopal ordination on December 21 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of the Przemyśl-Warsaw Archepark, Jan Martyniak , and the Bishop of the Wroclaw-Danzig Eparchy , Włodzimierz Juszczak OSBM .
On November 7, 2015, Pope Francis appointed him to succeed Jan Martyniak as Archbishop of Przemyśl-Warsaw. The inauguration took place on December 19 of the same year.
