The European Center for Workers ' Questions (EZA) is a European network of 70 workers' organizations from 30 countries. The secretariat is located in Königswinter. EZA members are workers' organizations as well as educational and research institutions that deal with employee issues and refer to Christian-social values. These in turn have a total of around eight million members. In addition, EZA has other partners in Europe and maintains relationships with employee organizations in other regions.
The work of EZA is funded by the European Union .
aims
With its work, EZA pursues two central goals:
- Promotion of the social dialogue , an instrument for the promotion of social partnership and policy advice to the European Union, and the associated examination of social challenges at European level
- Promoting the social and economic development of society and the integration of Europe in the labor sector
Against this background, EZA wants to contribute to the solution of employee and social issues, whereby it pays special attention to the socially disadvantaged. Education in particular is seen as a means of contributing to better social cohesion in Europe. This is intended to counteract social inequality .
activity
Together with its member centers and partners, EZA conducts around 70 seminars every year on relevant current issues of the European social dialogue in order to identify possible solutions. The topics include, for example, the future of a social Europe, the European pillar of social rights , capacity building, digitization , new industrial relations and forms of employment, safety and health protection at work, structural challenges in the labor market , equal opportunities for women and men, the compatibility of family and work as well the migration of workers and refugees.
EZA's target group are multipliers and those responsible for employee organizations. For managers and employees of employee organizations, EZA also offers courses to deepen and expand skills and knowledge in a European context.
In addition, it advises its members and partners on the development of projects for the implementation of European educational measures and promotes topic-oriented networks and platforms among the members and other organizations.
