history
CE Europa was created on June 5, 1907 from the merger of the two small clubs Madrid de Barcelona and Provençal , under the name Club Deportivo Europa . The club experienced its best period in the 1920s, when it became the second force in Barcelona .
In 1923 CE Europe won the Catalan championship and reached the final of the Spanish Cup , at that time the only all-Spanish championship, which, however, he lost against Athletic Bilbao with 0: 1.
In 1928 the club was one of the founding members of the Spanish league , but in 1931, after three seasons, CE Europe was relegated. After a merger with Gracia FC , the name Catalunya FC was adopted and the club disappeared from the scene.
In 1951 he reappeared as the official successor under his current name in the Tercera División .
Since then, CE Europa has been promoted to the Segunda División in 1963 , where the club had to relegate again after five years. 1994-95 he played for one season in the Segunda División B , the 3rd division of Spain.
However, the small club celebrated other notable successes in 1997 and 1998, when it was able to defeat FC Barcelona , which is considered overpowering, in the final of the Copa Catalunya .
