European Championships in Rhythmic Gymnastics 1980

The II. European Championships of Rhythmic Gymnastics took place between October 24th and 26th, 1980 in Amsterdam , Netherlands . Compared to the previous championship, the program has been expanded by one discipline. The club was a new addition, instead of the ball, the hoop was used for gymnastics.

All gold medals went to Bulgarian athletes, of whom Iliana Raeva alone achieved three of four victories in the device finals and the individual all-around.

To determine the total score, the points from the sub-disciplines rope, ball, clubs and ribbon were added together.
The eight best athletes in the sub-disciplines ( highlighted here in italics ) contested the equipment finals.
