Eutinger Tal is a protected landscape area (protected area number 2.37.035) in the Freudenstadt district .
Location and description
The protected area was created by ordinance of the Freudenstadt District Office of November 23, 1970. It is a scenic side valley of the Neckar valley . The Eutinger Valley belongs to the natural area 122- Obere Gäue within the main natural unit 12- Neckar- and Tauber-Gäuplatten .
Protection purpose
The main protection purpose is the preservation of the wooded slopes and the valley floor of the scenic Eutinger valley.
geology
The valley was formed by the Eutinger Talbach , which dug itself into the surrounding Upper Muschelkalk . In the middle of the valley lies the natural monument karst springs of the Talbach and the Lochbrunnen in the Eutinger valley .
Flora and fauna
At the entrance to the Eutinger Valley, on a south-facing slope, there is a semi-arid lawn with rich meadow flower vegetation and a remarkable number of insects and butterflies. In a census in 2001, 30 different butterflies were found, of which 14 species are on the red list in Baden-Württemberg. Opened beer cellars provide winter quarters for the endangered pug bat and the specially protected fire salamander .
