Hochdorfer Tal is a protected landscape area (protected area number 2.37.058) in the Freudenstadt district .

Location and description

The protected area was created by ordinance of the Freudenstadt District Office of July 2, 2007. It is a dry valley that is typical of the Obere Gäue natural area . It is located northwest of Eutingen im Gäu and overlaps in the north with the FFH area No. 7516-341 Freudenstädter Heckengäu .

Protection purpose

According to the Protected Areas Ordinance, the protection purpose is conservation and development

  • the typical dry valley with its exposed slopes, periodically water-bearing basin and spring horizons,
  • the distinctive orchards, as a typical element of the traditional smallholder cultural landscape,
  • the many fringing and small biotopes, as characteristic, structured structures between small parceled meadows and arable land,
  • the various plant communities in their location and use-related characteristics,
  • the diversity of animal and plant species,
  • the typical character of the cultural landscape as well as the preservation of a recreational landscape rich in variety.

geology

The Hochdorfer Graben , which has only very temporary water and which is shaped like a blade, is dug up to 4 m deep into the surrounding Upper Muschelkalk .
