Eva Jaeggi

Eva Jaeggi (born February 12, 1934 in Vienna ) is an Austrian psychologist , behavioral therapist and psychoanalyst .

life and work

Her family suffered from National Socialism . After completing a degree in psychology and additional training in behavioral therapy, Jaeggi was initially head of the psychological counseling center for students at the Ruhr University in Bochum from 1967 to 1971 . She then took on a scientific assistant position at the Psychological Institute of the Free University of Berlin . From 1978 to 2000 she taught and researched as a professor for clinical psychology at the Technical University of Berlin and published extensive and above all very popular non-fiction books. During this time, she completed additional training as a psychoanalyst.

After her retirement , Eva Jaeggi teaches at the Sigmund Freud University in Vienna as a guest lecturer and is in charge of the department of depth psychology at the Berlin Academy for Psychotherapy (BAP) .

In the 1960s she was married to the sociologist Urs Jaeggi . Their daughter is the philosopher Rahel Jaeggi .
