The Evangelical Church Niederlinxweiler is a church of the Evangelical Parish in Niederlinxweiler in Saarland , a district of the district town of St. Wendel . The parish is assigned to the Saar Ost parish of the Evangelical Church in the Rhineland . In the list of monuments of the Saarland, the church is a single monument listed.

history

The church was built in 1775 according to plans by the architect Johann Friedrich Stengel . This is confirmed by an inscription carved in a stone above the main portal of the church. The construction of the church had become necessary because the previous building, probably built around 1439, had become too small and partly dilapidated .

In the years 1830 to 1831 the church was extended by a tower , for the design of which Johann Martin Fladt was responsible.

Church building

The church building is a hall building with corner pilasters and large rectangular windows . The tower, which was later added in the classicist style, has four corner pilasters and four triangular gables on the top floor of the tower .

The church's furnishings include two windows designed by the Hungarian-German architect and church window painter György Lehoczky in 1953. They are titled “The poor man” and “The rich man”.

organ

The organ of the church was built in 1886 by the organ builders Friedrich and Karl Stumm ( Rhaunensulzbach / Hunsrück ). As a result of a renovation, the instrument received a new console . The organ has 15 stops , divided between a manual and a pedal . The manual is divided into several registers (bass: Ch, treble: c 1 -g 3 ) - see the disposition.
