The Protestant church is a listed church building in Altwildungen , a district of Bad Wildungen in the Waldeck-Frankenberg district ( Hesse ).

History and architecture

Prince Friedrich von Waldeck and Pyrmont had ordered the demolition of the dilapidated building that had previously stood here. The hall building with a three-sided end and west tower was built in 1729 under the direction of Julius Ludwig Rothweil . The wooden barrel vault is painted as a sky. The church is equipped with surrounding galleries . The pulpit , on which there are figures from an older pulpit from the end of the 17th century, was attached to the choir gallery. The figures were carved by Josias Wolrat Brützel . The baroque crucifix comes from the previous church.

organ

The organ

The previous organ was built in 1902 by the organ builder Eduard Vogt from Korbach as Opus 103 and rebuilt in 1951. Originally the organ had eight stops on two manuals and a pedal. The basic parts of the manual could be freely distributed to both manuals via a so-called " multiplex system ". In 1951 the organ was rebuilt by the Werner Bosch Orgelbau company. The windchests were rebuilt and the number of registers reduced to seven. The formerly romantic disposition was redesigned according to baroque sound concepts. The crowning of the prospectus has been removed. In this condition the organ had seven stops on a manual (Cf 3 : Gedackt 8 ′, Salicional 8 ′, Principal 4 ′, Schwiegel 2 ′, Mixtur II – III) and a pedal (C – d 1 : Subbass 16 ′, choral bass 4 ′). The actions were pneumatic.

Today's organ was built by Richard Rensch (Lauffen) during 2014 and inaugurated on the 4th of Advent, December 21, 2014. It has 17 registers, which are divided between two manuals and a pedal. Five are playable from both manuals via alternating loops . The instrument has the following disposition:
