Evangelical Church Freiensteinau
The Evangelical Church in Freiensteinau , a community in the Vogelsberg district in Hesse , was built from 1721 to 1724. The church is a protected architectural monument .
architecture
The church was built according to the plans of the Hanau master builder Johann Christian Starck . The hall building was added to the late Gothic choir tower from the 2nd half of the 14th century . In the rib-vaulted choir substantial fragments of late Gothic mural painting. The nave is spanned by a stucco cove ceiling and has a three-sided gallery . The pulpit is located next to the triumphal arch , which is provided with a stone coat of arms of the patron saint , Riedesel Freiherren zu Eisenbach . The round baptismal font dates from 1594.
