Evangelical Church in Sulzfeld

The Evangelical Church in Sulzfeld , a community in the district of Karlsruhe ( Baden-Württemberg ), was built in 1885/86. It is a cultural monument worth protecting .

tower

The basement of the tower has been preserved from the previous church from the middle of the 15th century. In the north, south and east walls of the tower there are windows from the 15th and 16th centuries. The upper floors above today's sacristy were renewed in 1779 according to an inscription on the acoustic arcade of the bell floor, which is open to the west.

New building from 1885/86

After the roof, organ and pulpit were badly damaged by lightning in 1755 , the decision was made to build a new church for the rapidly growing number of parishioners, which was built in neo-Romanesque style according to plans by the Karlsruhe church building councilor Ludwig Diemer . The church was consecrated on September 26, 1886 .

An extensive interior renovation was carried out in 2011 on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the church.

Bells

The ring consists of four bells: one was cast by Lucas Speck in Heidelberg in 1808 . Three more were made in 1949 by the Bachert bell foundry in Kochendorf ( Bad Friedrichshall ).

Tombs

On the three sides of the tower and in the interior of the church there are 13 epitaphs of the patronage family Göler von Ravensburg taken from the previous church . To the south of the church there are grave monuments from the historicist era .
