The Protestant parish church is a listed church building in Bruchenbrücken , a district of Friedberg in the Wetterau district ( Hesse ).

History and architecture

The church is named after Erasmus Alberus , who was born around 1500 in Bruchenbrücken and received his doctorate in theology from Martin Luther in 1548 . The previous church was destroyed by lightning in 1748. The foundation stone of the new church building was laid in 1750. The hall building with a three-sided end was built in 1751 according to a design by the Tyrolean master mason Joh. Georg Bärmann. The building is crowned with a roof turret. The pulpit dates from around 1767, and a pelican is depicted on the sound cover . In 1891 the interior was painted and a blessing Christ was painted on the central ceiling . In the same year a heater and an organ were installed. The picture of the blessing Christ was removed again during the interior renovation in 1966. The last renovation was carried out in 1993. The large bell with the strike note G sharp 1 was cast by Johann Peter Bach in Windecken in 1770 , the smaller one is new.
