Evangelista Di Milia

Evangelista Di Milia OFMCap (born January 6, 1842 in Calitri , † September 17, 1901 ibid) was an Italian clergyman and bishop of Lecce .

Life

He was born the son of Giuseppe Di Milia and his wife Margotta Francesca and baptized in the name of Michele Antonio . At his profession he took the religious name Evangelista . He was ordained deacon on January 31, 1864, and ordained priest for the Capuchin Order on July 16 of the same year.

Evangelista Di Milia was elected Bishop of Cassano all'Jonio on December 22, 1888 . The episcopal ordination donated him on 17 February 1889 in Rome Cardinal Raffaele Monaco La Valletta ; Co- consecrators were Curia Archbishop Ignazio Persico OFMCap and Rocco Cocchia OFMCap, Archbishop of Chieti . On November 10, 1898 Evangelista di Milia was transferred to the Episcopal See of Lecce.
