Evelyn Lucy Colyer (later Evelyn Munro , born August 16, 1902 in Wandsworth , † November 4, 1930 in Bishnath , British India ) was a British tennis player from England .
In 1924 Colyer won the bronze medal in doubles at the 1924 Olympic Games in Paris with Dorothy Shepherd-Barron . She also reached the final twice in the women's doubles at the Wimbledon Championships and at the French Championships : in 1923 she lost 3: 6, 1: 6 alongside Joan Austin to French Suzanne Lenglen and American Elizabeth Ryan . With Kathleen McKane Godfree she repeated the success in 1926, this time the defeat against Ryan and Mary Browne with 1: 6, 1: 6 was even clearer. At the French championships she was in the finals with Kathleen McKane in 1925 and 1926, but both times she was defeated by Suzanne Lenglen and Julie Vlasto (1: 6, 11: 9, 2: 6 in 1925, 1: 6, 1: 6 in the year 1926).
On February 13, 1930, she married Hamish Munro in London . On October 22nd, Colyer gave birth to twins, a boy and a girl, in the Indian state of Assam, India , but both died within a month. She herself died shortly afterwards at the age of only 28.
