Evi Van Acker (born September 23, 1985 in Ghent ) is a former Belgian sailor .
successes
Evi Van Acker, who competes in the Laser Radial boat class , took part in three Olympic Games . In 2008 she finished the regatta in Beijing with 91 points in eighth place. At the Olympic Games in London in 2012 , she improved to third place with 40 points, winning the bronze medal behind Xu Lijia and Marit Bouwmeester . Four years later she missed another medal win in Rio de Janeiro in fourth place. At world championships she was runner- up in 2011 in Perth and 2017 in Medemblik , in 2014 in Santander and 2015 in Mussanah she was third. Between 2006 and 2011 Van Acker won the title three times at the European Championships. She ended her career in September 2017.
In 2012 she was voted Belgium's Sportswoman of the Year .
