Ewa Elzbieta Żyła (born December 29, 1982 in Strzegom ) is a former Polish soccer player and today's coach .
Career
Żyła started her career in the youth of AKS Strzegom before joining KS AZS Wrocław in 2001 . Żyła developed into a top performer and won the Polish football championship six times with her team from 2002 to 2007, the Polish cup three times and her club made it to the final of the cup twice. She played 17 games and scored 4 goals for her club KS AZS Wrocław in the UEFA Women's Cup . For the 2008/2009 season she moved to Germany and played on loan for the women's football department at Hertha BSC . After she could not prevail, however, she moved back to Poland and played another season for her club KS AZS Wrocław.
For the 2010/2011 season she left her club and moved to RTP Unia Racibórz . There she played in the UEFA Women's Champions League in 2010/2011 and returned to Germany in June 2011. Since July 2011 she has been under contract with the German second division club SV Meppen . From July 5 to July 25, 2012, she was in trial training for the Bundesliga club FF USV Jena . On February 4, 2013, she left Meppen and ended her active career.
International career
Żyła has played for the Polish national team since 2004 . She made her debut on May 1, 2004 in a qualifier for the 2005 European Women's Football Championship .
Coaching career
In her second year in Meppen, in the 2012/2013 season, she was assistant coach of the Meppen B-Juniors, alongside the Dutch head coach Tommy Stroot. Since the end of her active career and leaving Meppen, she has been working as a youth trainer for the RTP Unia Racibórz .
Private
Żyła won at the Sports Academy Wrocław the Master in Sports Sciences and works in addition to their active football career as a therapist for the MOVING GmbH. She also holds the C coaching license for Polish football.
Futsal career
Since returning to Poland and ending her football career in the summer of 2013, she has been playing as an all-rounder in futsal for the futsal department of the Polish record champions RTP Unia Racibórz .
