The Catholic Church Exaltation-de-la-Sainte-Croix in Bailly-le-Franc , a commune in the Aube department in the French region of Grand Est , was built in the early 16th century. Dendrochronological studies date the construction of the nave from 1509 and the construction of the choir from 1510. The roof turret with its slate-covered pointed helmet was placed on the third nave yoke in the 18th century.

An open vestibule resting on wooden posts is attached to the west facade. The three-aisled nave is divided into four bays . The central nave opens into a choir closed on five sides.

Leaded glass window

Pietà

The church is equipped with leaded glass windows depicting saints and inscriptions with the names of the donors. The scene depicting the Pietà is dated around 1500. It was built into a pane from the 19th century.

Furnishing

In the 18th century an altar was built into the choir . Emperor Constantine the Great is depicted on the altar sheet, bowing to the cross.

The large crucifix above the entrance also dates from the 18th century.

The Virgin Mary and Jesus pointing to his heart are depicted on the two procession poles from the 19th century.
