Exploding Plastic Inevitable
Exploding Plastic Inevitable (EPI) - initially Erupting Plastic Inevitable - was the title of a loose series of multimedia performances , happenings and light shows that the American pop art artist Andy Warhol in collaboration with the rock group The Velvet Underground and the singer Nico from the beginning Organized from 1966 to mid-1967.
The confused audience was made insecure with a veritable bombardment of screaming guitar amplifiers , pounding drum attacks and driving bass rhythms, furthermore dazzled with twitching stroboscopic flashes and unsettled with light effects and psychedelic slide and film projections to dance performances with a sadomasochistic touch. The most famous location for the cultural spectacle was the DOM in New York City .
