The Roman Catholic Expositurkirche Haimingerberg is located in the scattered settlement Haimingerberg (formerly: Silzerberg) in the municipality of Haiming in the Imst district in Tyrol . It is dedicated to the Feast of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary and is a branch of the Haiming parish in the Silz deanery in the Innsbruck diocese . The church is a listed building ( list entry ).

Location description

The center of the scattered settlement Haimingerberg is the hamlet Höpperg. There the building stands on a rock at 1,009 meters above sea level above the Inn Valley.

history

Before the church was built, pastoral care was carried out in the parish of Silz. On May 26, 1845, the foundation stone was laid for the new church to be built and construction began. On November 10, 1846, took place Benedizierung the church through the Stamser prelates Schnitzer Alois. From this point on, acts of worship could take place in the church. The consecration of the church took place on 28 June 1850 by the auxiliary bishop of Bressanone, Georg Prünster. Renovations took place in 1923/24 (inside and outside), 1953 (church roof), 1955 (outside), 1968 (changes in line with the liturgical reform ) and 1994 (interior).

Exterior description

The church is a simple, north-facing , late classicist building. He stands on a large rock hill. Above the main south facade with risalit and triangular gable is a 27 meter high tower. The sound windows are provided with round arches. The tower is covered by a Biedermeier hood with a lantern . The lintel portal is located in a round arch niche. The roof is covered with wooden shingles. The cemetery is connected to the west and the rectory to the east .

When entering the church you first come to a small anteroom, which forms the ground floor of the risalit. The nave is single-bay, square and cross -arched . There are circular windows above the arched windows. The choir is currently closed. From here you can get to the attached sacristy on the right . The central room closes off with round arches both towards the choir and the gallery.

Furnishing

The main altar comes from the construction time. The main painting shows the Visitation of Mary, the upper painting God the Father with the Holy Spirit as a dove. Both paintings are by Johann Mader. In the course of the liturgical reform, a simple, oval popular altar was placed in front of the main altar. On the left and right of the main altar there are round-arch paintings: St. Joachim and St. Joseph with baby Jesus, on the right St. Anna and St. Aloisius in prayer position.
