FR Boschvogel

FR Boschvogel , pseudonym of Frans Ramon , (born September 22, 1902 in Zedelgem -Aartrijke, † January 13, 1994 in Kortemark ) was a Flemish writer . He is known for historical novels and short stories, mostly about medieval Flanders.

Life

After studying at the Normal School of Torhout Bosch bird initially worked as a teacher in his hometown and in Zedelgem. He later went to Diksmuide and Bruges to teach history .

In 1942 Boschvogel's first novel was published, entitled Willem van Loo , which takes up the life story of Wilhelm von Ypres . The novel was awarded the Karel Barbier Prize of the Royal Academy for Dutch Linguistics and Literature (KANTL) in 1943.

His novel Vlaanderen die Leu ( The Lion of Flanders ), published in 1952, was filmed in 1978 by the Flemish Radio (BRT) as a multi-part television series Dirk van Haveskerke .

Another pseudonym used by Boschvogel was ' t Houtmanneke (the wooden man).

In 1977, the Bosch Birds Friends has Boschvogelkring formed, which commemorates the life and work of the writer Bosch bird.

On the 100th anniversary of the local branch of the Landesgilde (Landelijke Gilde) of Aartrijke, this has opened a cycle path, called the Bosch bird route. It is a 45 km long circular route that leads around the town of Zedelgem.
