The FA Women's Super League 2014 was the fourth edition of the highest British women's football league FA WSL . It is organized under the umbrella of the Football Association . The seasons run from April to October each year.
Since this year it has been held in two league levels with eight and ten teams respectively, between which there is a direct promoted or relegated team.
The champions and runners-up qualified for the 2015/16 UEFA Women's Champions League .
Attendees
Seven teams from the previous year took part in the league. The last-placed Doncaster Rovers Belles were grouped into the newly created WSL 2, which amounted to a relegation. They have been replaced by the Manchester City Women . The Lincoln Ladies team was relocated from Lincoln to Nottingham and renamed Notts County Ladies FC . As a result, eight teams were at the start again in WSL1.

WSL 2 was newly created. The last placed of the WSL 2013 Doncaster Rovers Belles were supplemented by nine more teams.
