The FK Olexandrija ( Ukrainian Футбо́льний клуб "Олександрі́я" Futbolnyj klub "Oleksandrija" ) is a Ukrainian football club from the city of Oleksandrija .

history

The association was founded in 1991 as Polihraftechnika Oleksandrija . In 1992 the team made their debut in the second highest Ukrainian league ( Perscha Liha ). In 2001 the team rose to the Ukrainian elite class ( Premjer-Liha ). After two seasons in the Premjer-Liha, the club went bankrupt. In 2003 the name was changed to FK Oleksandrija. The club has had its current club name since 2004. In the same year, a new beginning was started in the third highest Ukrainian league ( Druha Liha ). After two seasons, the team rose to the second-rate Perscha Liha in 2006. In 2011 the championship of the Perscha Liha was won and the associated promotion to the Premjer-Liha was achieved. After only one season in the Premjer-Liha and the 16th and last place, the PFK Olexandrija played again in the Perscha Liha in 2012/13. In 2015 he was once again promoted to the highest Ukrainian league. The first season in which the club played again in the Premjer-Liha, he finished sixth in the table and thus qualified for the UEFA Europa League qualification.
