The steam locomotive series kkStB 294 was a tank locomotive series of the kk state railways of Austria , which was procured for various local railways.

The locomotives of this series were delivered by Krauss in Linz and Munich from 1881 to 1905 . The last 294.13 delivered had slightly different boiler dimensions (see table). They were designed for economic traffic on local railways. The 294.11-12 were owned by the Austrian Local Railway Company (ÖLEG), the rest belonged to the Bozen-Meraner Bahn (BMB).

After 1918 the machines were assigned to the ČSD and the FS . While they were not assigned their own series number at the ČSD, the locomotives at the FS formed the series  899 " . The 899" .006 (ex. KkStB 294.09, BMB 1 "MERAN") is located in the national Italian railway museum in Naples .
