Fabio Andres Duarte Arevalo (born June 11, 1986 in Facatativá ) is a Colombian cyclist .

Athletic career

In 2005 Fabio Duarte won one stage at the Vuelta a la Sabana and three stages as well as the overall ranking of the Vuelta de la Juventud . In 2006 he drove for the UNE Orbitel team . That year he became the Colombian time trial champion in the U23 class and won a stage in the Vuelta a Colombia . In 2006 he also won two stages and the overall ranking of the Clásica Nacional Ciudad de Anapoima , the prologue and the overall ranking on Clasica International de Tulcan , three stages and the overall ranking of the Vuelta de la Juventud and the prologue of the Clásica Nacional Marco Fidel Suárez . In 2007 Duarte drove for the Professional Continental Team Serramenti PVC Diquigiovanni , where he was successful on a section of the Vuelta a Colombia. From 2008 to 2010 he drove for the Continental Team Colombia Es Pasion .

Duarte celebrated his greatest success to date at the 2008 road cycling world championships in Varese by securing the world title in the U23 class. For the 2011 season he switched to the Geox-TMC team, which he had to leave a year later due to the dissolution of the team. That year he won a stage of the Giro del Trentino .

Duarte went back to his homeland and signed with the Continental Team Colombia Coldeportes . In 2012 he decided a stage of the Vuelta a Colombia and the Coppa Sabatini for himself. With the EPM team , he won the team time trial of the Tour of Colombia in 2017 .
