FabrikC is a Hellectro project by the German musician Thorsten Berger.

history

Berger grew up in Oberhausen and began to perform poetry and set it to music in the 1980s . The first songs were written on the C64 and the Amiga . He then worked as a light jockey and DJ . He later moved to Hanover. In 2005 he founded the initially unnamed project FabrikC, published the EP Leidensweg in December 2004 and finally named the project. He chose “Fabrik” as part of the name in order to take into account the music he programs, the “C” has no deeper meaning. On April 1, 2005, the first album colorless was released as a self-production. Berger began to send his song material to labels and finally found a partner in ProNoize (Dark Dimensions). The three albums DC (2005), Impulsgeber (2007) and Resistance (2011) were released there. In addition to these recordings, he has also published some remixes , including for well-known artists such as Das Ich , Samsas Traum , Noisuf-X , Ext! Ze and Nachtmahr . He is represented on various samplers from the black scene .

When performing live, Berger is supported by the musicians halfevil (drums) and FRYZ (keyboard). He has performed at the Secret Garden Festival ( Hanover ), the Summer Darkness ( Utrecht ), the Kinetik Festival ( Montreal ), the Wave-Gotik-Treffen ( Leipzig ) and the Amphi Festival in Cologne .

style

FabrikC's songs belong to the genre Hellectro and thus to the dark electro / techno area with various echoes of noise and trance . They are usually very fast, but rhythmic and danceable. Berger mainly works with speech samples from films or original quotes.
