Falk Henning Wendrich (born June 12, 1995 ) is a German high jumper from Soest , North Rhine-Westphalia .

Athletic career

In 2011, Wendrich won silver at the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) in Trabzon ( Turkey ) with a personal best of 2.08 m.

In 2012 he won the silver medal at the U20 World Championships in Barcelona in 2012 .

Wendrich was elected Youth Athlete of the Year 2012.

He started for LAZ Soest until 2013 , then for TV Wattenscheid and since then again for LAZ Soest.

In the 2017 season, Wendrich set a new personal best at the high jump meeting in Bühl (Baden) with 2.26 meters. In mid-July he was nominated by the General German University Sports Association for the Summer Universiade in Taipei , where he won the high jump competition with another personal best of 2.29 m.

Private

Wendrich studies economics at the Ruhr University Bochum .

Wendrich has been in a relationship with his discipline colleague Imke Onnen since June 2017 .
