Famoxadone is a racemic chemical compound from the group of hydrazine derivatives , oxazolidinones and diphenyl ethers .

Extraction and presentation

The chemical reaction of 2- (4-phenoxyphenyl) lactate with a mixture of phenoxyphenyl and 1,1'-carbonyldiimidazole in dichloromethane yields famoxadone.

use

Famoxadone is used as an active ingredient in crop protection products. It is a fungicide that works by inhibiting mitochondrial electron transport.

In Germany, Austria and Switzerland, plant protection products are approved (e.g. Equation Pro ) that contain famoxadone as an active ingredient.
