The Farol de Vale Formoso is a lighthouse near Capelo in the west of the Azores island of Faial . It is registered under the international number D-2699 and the national number 868. Its identifier is two two-second long flashes within 10 seconds. The range is 13 nautical miles (24 km).

The lighthouse was built at the end of the 1950s to replace the Farol da Ponta dos Capelinhos , 2.5 km northwest, which had to be shut down in September 1957 after a volcanic eruption . The tower is made of reinforced concrete painted white with a gallery and a red lantern.
