Fautenbach is a district of Achern in the Ortenaukreis in Baden-Württemberg .
Fautenbach is a locality in the sense of the Baden-Württemberg municipal code , which means that there is a local council with a local mayor as chairman to be elected by those entitled to vote in every local election . Only the village of the same name belongs to the district of Fautenbach.
The place was first mentioned as Vultenbach around 1085. It came into the possession of Großweier and Schauenburg via the Hirsau monastery . Then it belonged to the Achern court. The previously independent community of Fautenbach was incorporated into Achern on January 1, 1973.
The Fischer Group , a large manufacturer of stainless steel tubes, is based in Fautenbach and is Achern's largest employer.
The blazon of the former municipal coat of arms reads: "In silver a red millstone."
