Fear Before (previously Fear Before the March of Flames ) is a hardcore band from Aurora , Colorado, founded in 2002 . The musically experimental approach of the band combines elements from post-hardcore , metalcore and mathcore .
Fear Before is under contract with the music label Equal Vision Records .
biography
In 2002 singer David Marion, guitarist Adam Fisher, bassist Michael Madruga and drummer Brandon Proff formed Fear Before. The members drew their inspiration from bands like Converge , Botch and The Blood Brothers .
The first album Odd How People Shake was first released in 2003 via Rise Records , followed by a re-release via the music label Equal Vision Records in spring 2004 .
In the same year, the band's second album, Art Damage, followed .
On The Always Open Mouth , published in 2006, Fear Before increasingly worked with synthesizers and other electronic effects, among other things .
After the name was shortened to Fear Before in September 2008, the self-titled fourth studio album by the band was released on October 28, 2008. Various guest musicians are featured on the release, including Thomas Erak from The Fall of Troy and members of bands like Heavy Heavy Low Low , Portugal. The Man and Vaux . Compared to the band's previous albums, the frequency of clear singing voices has increased.
