Hendrik Feldwehr (born August 18, 1986 in Bremerhaven ) is a German swimmer who specializes in short chest distances.

He is married to the swimmer Isabelle Härle .

Athletic career

In 2007, the Feldwehr became German champions for the first time in the 50-meter chest . In 2009, at the German Swimming Championships in Berlin , he was able to win this title again and also the title over 100 meters chest.

The Feldwehr celebrated its greatest success so far at the 2009 World Swimming Championships in Rome by finishing fourth over 50 meters in a new European record time of 26.95 seconds. In addition, he won the silver medal together with the German 4 x 100 meter medley relay and took seventh place over 100 meters chest.

A few months later at the European Short Course Championships in Istanbul in 2009 , Feldwehr won the silver medal with the 4 x 50 meter relay and reached the finals over 50 meters, where he finished ninth. Over 100 meters chest he reached eleventh place.

Feldwehr trained with SSG Bremen / Bremerhaven until 2007 and switched to trainer Henning Lambertz at SG Essen in 2008 .

At the European Short Course Championships in 2013 , he subsequently won silver in the 4 x 50 meter individual medley after the first-placed Russian Vitaly Melnikov and his team had been convicted as a doping offender .

He took part in the 2012 Olympic Games in London .

Honors

In 2009, Feldwehr was named “Newcomer of the Year” by North Rhine-Westphalia with the “Felix” .
