Felice Bezzi

Felice Bezzi (born December 5, 1749 in Tolentino , † March 16, 1828 in Pesaro ) was an Italian Roman Catholic clergyman and bishop of Pesaro .

Life

The son of Bernardino Bezzi and Smeralda Torricelli, Felice Bezzi came from a family belonging to the patriciate of both Tolentino and Fabriano . He received on 8 November 1772 ordination and was on March 8, 1778 after five years of study at the University of Macerata for Doctor iuris utriusque doctorate .

Felice Bezzi was Vicar General of the Diocese of Macerata for fifteen years , after which he held the same office for eight years in Fermo under Bishop Andrea Antonio Silverio Minucci . At the age of 55 he entered the service of the Curia as a trainee lawyer on August 22, 1805 , where he became consultor at the Apostolic Signature before February 4, 1815 .

Pope Leo XII. appointed him on May 24, 1824 Bishop of Pesaro. He was ordained bishop on June 24th of the same year in Rome by the Cardinal Bishop of Albano , Pietro Francesco Galleffi ; Co-consecrators were Archbishop Filippo Filonardi and Cesare Nembrini Pironi Gonzaga , Bishop of Ancona e Numana . Felice Bezzi died four years later at his bishopric.
