Felix Langer (writer)

Felix Langer (born June 18, 1889 in Brno , Austria-Hungary ; died June 4, 1979 in London ) was an Austrian writer , playwright , journalist and theater critic . He also wrote under the pseudonym Abranto or Felix Abranto .

Life

Felix Langer was born the son of a Moravian businessman. He studied law in Vienna and received his doctorate in 1914. From 1915 to 1918 he was a soldier in the First World War . From 1920 to 1933 he worked as a theater critic and writer in Berlin . As a board member of the German Dramatists' Association, Langer published their monthly journal of the same name.

In 1933 he emigrated to Czechoslovakia . There he worked on various newspapers in exile and was actively involved in literature against racial hatred and anti-Semitism . In May 1939 he fled to London, where he lived as a playwright, storyteller and author of radio plays until his death.
