Felix Marchand
Felix Jacob Marchand (born October 22, 1846 in Halle (Saale) , † February 4, 1928 in Leipzig ) was a German pathologist .
Life
As the son of the chemist Richard Felix Marchand , Marchand studied at the Friedrich Wilhelms University in Berlin . In 1870 he was promoted to Dr. med. PhD . In 1879 he completed his habilitation on the subject of contributions to the knowledge of ovarian tumors . In 1881 he became full professor at the Hessian Ludwig University of Giessen . In 1883 he moved to the Philipps University of Marburg . As the successor to Felix Victor Birch-Hirschfeld , he was finally at the University of Leipzig from 1900 to 1921 . Franz Saxer was his prosector . He died at the age of 82 and was buried in the Südfriedhof (Leipzig) .
