Felix Kalu Nmecha (born October 10, 2000 in Hamburg ) is a German - English soccer player who is under contract with Manchester City .

family

Nmecha was born in Hamburg to a German mother and a Nigerian father . In 2007 the family emigrated to England . His older brother Lukas (* 1998) is also a soccer player.

Career

In the club

Nmecha joined the youth department of Manchester City as a child and went through this up to the U19, with whom he also played in the UEFA Youth League in the 2017/18 and 2018/19 seasons . In the 2017/18 season Nmecha already made three appearances in the U23, in which he scored one goal. He has been part of the U23 squad since the 2018/19 season. On December 12, 2018 Nmecha was in the first team's matchday squad in the last Champions League group game under Pep Guardiola, but was not used in the 2-1 win against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim . On January 23, 2019, he made his debut under Guardiola in the first team when he was substituted on in the second half in the 1-0 victory in the semi-final second leg of the League Cup against third division side Burton Albion ; Nmecha was not in the squad when he won the title against Chelsea .

In the national team

In October 2015 Nmecha played twice in the English U16 team . In March 2018 he moved to the DFB and was featured three times in the German U18 team by the beginning of May 2018 . Nmecha moved back to the FA in May 2018 and made three appearances in the English U18 team by the end of the month , in which he scored one goal. He has been active in the English U19 team since October 2018 .
