Ferdinand Fleischinger
August Ferdinand Fleischinger (* 1804 in Berlin ; † May 20, 1885 there ) was a German architect and Prussian military construction officer in Berlin.
Life
Ferdinand Fleischinger received his training at the Berlin Building Academy . He passed his master builder examination in 1830 after having worked as a construction manager since 1825 . After that, Fleischinger was an employee of the Oberbaudeputation and from 1834 worked as a master builder in the Prussian War Ministry . During this time he was one of the co-founders of the Berlin Architects' Association.
In 1843, Fleischinger was appointed building officer; from 1850 he was a lecturer in the war ministry and ministerial building officer of the technical building deputation. From 1855 he held the title of a secret senior building officer. In the 1840s to 1860s, Fleischinger worked as the executive architect for some of the buildings designed by Friedrich August Stüler .
From 1854 to 1860, Fleischinger taught the subject of building construction theory at the Bauakademie in Berlin, where he also worked out guidelines for teaching.
architecture
Ferdinand Fleischinger was a graduate of the building academy of the Schinkel School . His designs are held in an Italianizing round arch style. As with the general staff building on Königsplatz in Berlin, erected between 1867 and 1871, his work also features unfinished brick buildings and pilasters.
Due to his work for the War Ministry, Fleischinger was primarily concerned with the planning of military buildings, which under Friedrich Wilhelm IV and Wilhelm I were mostly designed in a "Norman" style with arched windows and decorative crenellated wreaths.
