Ferdinand Matthias von Nagel (* March 6, 1679 , † December 5, 1733 in Hildesheim ) was official coroner in Steinbrück and canon in Hildesheim.

Life

Origin and family

Ferdinand Matthias von Nagel grew up as the son of Dietrich Hermann von Nagel and his wife Maria Klara von Billerbeck zu Egelborg (1644–1701) together with his siblings Franz Adolf , Ferdinand Ignaz and Maria Elisabeth (* 1681, ∞ Johann Bertraud von Etzbach) and his Half-brothers Christoph Bernhard and Georg Levin in the ancient Westphalian noble family von Nagel .

Career and work

On March 20, 1696, Ferdinand Matthias received a cathedral priest in Hildesheim with papal approval . The appointment as official Drosten of Steinbrück fell in the year 1709. Four years later he received the Archidiakonat Hildesheim. The canon Franz Roetger von Ketteler involved him in a brawl in 1714, as a result of which the challenger von Ketteler died after a fall caused by Nagel's blow. Ferdinand Matthias was entrusted with the office of cathedral treasurer in 1715.
