Ferdinand Ignaz von Nagel

Ferdinand Ignaz von Nagel (* March 12, 1660 ; † March 15 or March 23, 1726 in Hildesheim ) was canon in Paderborn and Hildesheim as well as cathedral dean.

Life

Origin and family

As the son of Dietrich Hermann von Nagel and his wife Maria Klara von Billerbeck zu Egelborg (1644–1701), Ferdinand Ignaz von Nagel grew up with his siblings Franz Adolf , Ferdinand Matthias and Maria Elisabeth (* 1681, ∞ Johann Bertraud von Etzbach) and his Half-brothers Christoph Bernhard and Georg Levin in the ancient Westphalian noble family von Nagel .

Career and work

With the receipt of the tonsure on March 10, 1672 Ferdinand Ignaz was prepared for a clerical office. Through papal approval he received a cathedral praise in Paderborn in 1682 . On October 29, 1690 he was awarded the prebend in Hildesheim . The cathedral chapter of Hildesheim elected him on October 26, 1723 as cathedral dean . He was also the Prince-Bishop's War and Treasury Council .
