Ferdinand Philipp von Droste zu Erwitte (* June 27, 1710 ; † June 6, 1736 ) was canon in Münster and Osnabrück .

Life

Origin and family

Ferdinand Philipp von Droste zu Erwitte came from the old Westphalian noble family Droste zu Erwitte , which went out in the middle of the 18th century and was named after the Erwitte house . He was the son of the Electorate of Cologne, Ferdinand Caspar von Droste zu Erwitte († 1728) and his wife Juliana Elisabeth von Ketteler zu Middelburg. His brother Engelbert Dietrich (1725–1769) was Provost of the Cathedral in Hildesheim and Landdrost of the Duchy of Westphalia . His uncle Benedikt Wilhelm Arnold was canon in Paderborn, Privy Councilor, Landdrost, uncle Ferdinand Friedrich (1683–1728) canon in Paderborn and Münster.

Act

After a biennium in Rome, which was a prerequisite for practicing a spiritual profession, Ferdinand Philipp received a cathedral canon in Münster in 1728 by papal approval . Three years later he also became canon in Osnabrück . Ferdinand Philipp was also a subdeacon . He died at the early age of 26 after a long illness. He was buried in the Josefskapelle in Paderborn. His grave slab is now at the Gaukirche in Paderborn.
