Ferdinand Zylka (born April 11, 1998 in Berlin ) is a German basketball player who is currently active in the middle German BC in the basketball league .

career

Zylka played in his youth for TuS Lichterfelde and for RSV Eintracht / IBBA Berlin before moving to Alba Berlin in 2013 . There he was used in the youth basketball league , the youth basketball league and in the second men's team (first regional league). He also attended the sports high school in Hohenschönhausen . For the 2016/17 season he was given a double license that allowed him to play for SSV Lok Bernau in the 2nd Bundesliga ProB . In March 2017 he made his debut for Alba Berlin in the basketball Bundesliga in a duel with Würzburg .

At the end of January 2018, he left Berlin and Bernau when he switched to the Thuringian Bundesliga club Rockets (formerly Oettinger Rockets). Zylka was used in eleven Bundesliga games (points average: 2.5) until the end of the 2017/18 season, but missed the Bundesliga relegation with the team.

At the end of June 2018, Zylka was signed by the Bundesliga club Mitteldeutscher BC . In addition to deployments in the Bundesliga, he was also deployed in the ProB at the cooperation partner BSW Sixers .

National team

He took part in the 2014 European Championship with the German U16 national team, in 2016 he played the U18 European Championship with the U18 team of the German Basketball Federation and came fourth with the team. In July 2017, Zylka was the best scorer in the German selection at the U19 World Cup with 11.7 points per game. At the beginning of June 2018, Zylka was appointed to the U20 national team, with whom he reached third place at the home European championships in Chemnitz , Saxony , and scored 6.3 points per game over the course of the tournament. In 2019 he was appointed to the A2 national team and completed his participation in the Summer Universiade in Naples in July 2019 in fifth place.
