Holiday country Austria (stamp series)
Ferienland Österreich is a definitive stamp series from Austria with 18 values, which was published from 2002 to 2007. Each stamp shows a holiday landscape from Austria. Some of the stamps in this series are still available at Austrian post offices today, as the successor series has not yet adopted all the face values of this definitive series or this is not currently planned.
properties
The stamps appeared in portrait format and with perforations . The design comes from Adolf Tuma . The Austrian State Printing House used gravure printing in the production . The stamps were printed in sheets of 100 pieces.
Edition numbers
The stamp with the highest circulation with a face value of 51 cents is the stamp with the Schönlaterngasse motif. Just under a million fewer stamps were printed from the stamp with a face value of 55 cents with the motif of the city of Steyr. The high print run is due to the fact that until 2003 a stamp with a value of 51 cents was required for a standard mailing and from 2003 this value increased to 55 cents.
particularities
The previous definitive stamp series of the Austrian Post were the sagas and legends from Austria . This definitive series is the first series with euro currency.
The successor to this series is the issue of flowers , which is already Austria's second definitive stamp series with euro currency.
