The Ferretti SpA , known as Ferretti Group , based in Forlì , is an Italian manufacturer of luxury yachts , which together with its subsidiaries forms the Ferretti Group. The group is Europe's largest manufacturer of yachts and generated sales of 650 million euros in 2018.

history

The company was founded in 1968 by Norberto Ferretti (Powerboat World Champion 1994) and from 1998 was partly owned by the British private equity investor Permira , which in November 2006 acquired 60% of the shares for € 1.7 billion in the British private company Equity group Candover sold. In spring 2009, however, the company had to be rescheduled, with Candover and Permira leaving the group of owners and the majority of the capital from now on held by Norberto Ferretti, the management and Mediobanca .

In early 2012, the Chinese Weichai Holding Group, a subsidiary of Shandong Heavy Industry, took over a 75 percent stake in the Ferretti Group for 374 million euros.

In April 2016, F Investments SA , a company owned by Ferrari heir Piero Ferrari , took over 13.2% of the Ferretti Group.

  • Ferretti Yachts, the company's core business, specializes in flybridge motor yachts 15 to 27 meters in length.
  • Pershing, acquired in 1998, specializes in high-performance open motor yachts from 15 to 35 meters in length.
  • Itama, acquired in 2004, specializes in yachts from 13 to 24 meters in length.
  • Bertram, acquired in 1998, specializes in yachts for sport fishermen from 11 to 24 meters in length.
  • Riva , acquired in 2000, specializes in open and flybridge yachts from 10 to 35 meters in length.
  • Mochi Craft, acquired in 2001, specializes in motor yachts in the style of New England "Lobster Boats" from 13 to 23 meters in length.
  • CRN, formerly Costruzioni e Riparazioni Navali Srl , acquired in 1999, builds motor yachts of 40 and 43 meters in length and also specializes in steel hull motor yachts from 46 to 85 meters in length.
  • Custom Line, acquired in 1996, produces maxi yachts (26 to 37 m)

The group also includes Diesse Arredamenti SpA , which specializes in yacht equipment , and Zago SpA , acquired in 2002 and 2003, respectively. From 2001 to 2010, the Neapolitan boat manufacturer Apreamare , which has since been sold, was part of the Ferretti Group.
