Festival of the Music and Art Schools Brandenburg

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

SOUND CITY , the Brandenburg Music and Art School Festival (formerly: Brandenburg State Music School Days ), is the largest youth culture festival in the state of Brandenburg and is organized by the Brandenburg Association of Music and Art Schools in cooperation with the host city and district. After the first event in Beeskow in 1994, the festival has been held every two years since 1997 on the first weekend of the summer holidays in a changing city in Brandenburg.

Young musicians, dancers and artists from the public music and art schools of the State of Brandenburg and the general education schools in the region perform in ensembles, bands, orchestras, choirs, dance and musical groups on several stages centrally located in the respective city . Other children's and youth facilities such as daycare centers and youth clubs as well as regional music groups also participate in the program. Since 2013, in addition to the stage program, there has also been a wide range of action art, art installations, exhibitions and workshops organized by the association's art schools. The concerts and art events are accompanied by various special events spread across the city. Moderators from the RBB lead through the program. The three-day open-air festival offers schoolchildren the opportunity to perform in front of a broad audience and to get to know other young musicians and artists from the country. With events of various genres, SOUND CITY is the largest youth culture festival and, after Brandenburg Day, the second largest festival in the state of Brandenburg. Admission to all events is free.

The event's patron is Dr. Dietmar Woidke , Prime Minister of the State of Brandenburg.
