Reviews

“The permanent bang (New Year festival!) Fits in well with the marital theater of war, which Asghar Farhadi differentiates and stages without simply assigning blame. Famous everyday drama, turbulent and moving. "

“Few Iranian films have tried to realistically depict both the urban middle and lower classes, and fewer still with the complexity of story telling and depth of characterization in Asghar Farhadi's impressive third feature, 'Fireworks Wednesday'. [...] this beautifully paced drama about marital infidelity, seen through the eyes of a young housemaid about to get married, is psychologically intricate and dramatically engrossing. "

Few Iranian films have tried to portray the urban middle and lower classes, even fewer with the complexity of narration and the depth of character drawing as in Ashgar Farhadi's 'Fireworks Wednesday'. [...] this beautifully progressing drama about infidelity in marriage, viewed through the eyes of a young housemaid shortly before marriage, is psychologically intricate and dramatically captivating.
