Fichtenbach is a village and a cadastral municipality in the Altmelon municipality in the Zwettl district in Lower Austria .

The courtyards of the former lumberjack settlement lie as if strung along the local road that runs from west to east. Coming from Altmelon from the north, Greiner Straße divides the place in two halves.

Settlement development

At the turn of the year 1979/1980 there were a total of 42 building areas with 9,439 m² and 2 gardens on 65 m² in the cadastral community of Fichtenbach , in 1989/1990 there were also 42 building areas. In 1999/2000 the number of building areas had grown to 119 and in 2009/2010 there were 78 buildings on 117 building areas.

Land use

The cadastral community is characterized by agriculture. 146 hectares were used for agriculture at the turn of the year 1979/1980 and 6 hectares were forest areas. In 1999/2000 agriculture was carried out on 120 hectares and 27 hectares were designated as areas used for forestry. At the end of 2018, 110 hectares were used as agricultural land and forestry was carried out on 31 hectares. The average soil climate number of Fichtenbach is 15.3 (as of 2010).
