The Affiliate Church of Our Lady of Sorrows is a Roman Catholic church in Aschau in the municipality of Brandenberg in the Kufstein district in Tyrol . The church dedicated to the memory of the pain of Mary belongs to the Archdiocese of Salzburg . It is a listed building .

The church was built in 1707. A church consecration is mentioned in 1852. Restoration took place in 1926.

Architecture and interior design

The three-bay nave is vaulted with a barrel with stitch caps . The triumphal arch has a segmental arch, the choir a polygonal end. The roof turret placed on the gable roof to the west is crowned with an onion helmet with a lantern . The two-storey, western extension with a pent roof as an extension of the main roof was built in 1968.

In 1852 the interior of the church was painted by Johann Georg Lackner. In the chorus scenes from are life of Jesus and the crucifixion represented. The murals in the nave show " Constantine appears the cross", the " Transfiguration ", " The bronze serpent " as a prefiguration of the crucifixion of Christ and other scenes from the Old Testament .

The altar from the 19th century bears a baroque group of figures from the 18th century with the crucifix, Our Lady of Sorrows, two angels and the Saints John the Evangelist and Mary Magdalene . There are two console statues of Saints Sebastian and Isidore and a figure of the Good Shepherd . The relief of a Pietà is from the 19th century.

A bell was cast by Johann Hackl in 1725.
