Finbar Lynch

Finbar Lynch (born August 28, 1959 in Dublin ) is an Irish actor .

life and career

Finbar Lynch was born as one of three sons in the Irish capital, Dublin, and at the age of 11 he moved with his family to the village of Indreabhán , where his father ran a clothing store.

Lynch later moved back to Dublin to start an acting career. After he was rejected many times due to a lack of experience, he was able to get a small role in a stage production of the play Endstation Sehnsucht by Tennessee Williams and thus lay the foundation for a career in the acting business. In 1999 he was nominated for both a Tony Award for Best Supporting Actor and a Drama Desk Award in the same category for his portrayal of Canary Jim from the play Not About Nightingales , another play by Tennessee Williams.

Lynch first appeared in a television series in 1983, for example in Glenroe . In 1988 he played a recurring role as Persse McGarrigle in the mini-series Small World . Among other series appearances, like in Waking the Dead - On behalf of the dead , Silk - robes of silk or Game of Thrones , Lynch also took film roles, as in To Kill a King , Mathilde , child 44 or Suffragette - Actions speak louder than words .

He is married to actress Niamh Cusack and they have a son together.
